Welcome to the Great Adventure!

If you're reading this blog, chances are you have some sort of connection to the great adventure that I have been living this past year.  First of all, let me express a heartfelt thank you to all of you who have prayed for me, sent me encouraging notes, and supported me financially this past year in the work of reaching college students for Christ through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at NIU.  I could not have done it without you!

If there's one thing I've learned this year, it's that serving God is never boring.  God did not call us to a life of accepting the status quo and complacency, He calls us to a life of unexpected twists and turns.  He calls us to join him on a great adventure to fulfill the Great Commission-to go to all means necessary to find lost, broken people and share with them healing and restoring love of Christ.

You know the year has been full of adventure- from struggling to fit a keg full of rootbeer in a car, to handing out boxes of food in inner cities, to late nights with the women in my Bible study, God has been working in anything other than mundane ways.

Here's where you and I are going on our next Christ-centered adventure- Valencia, Venezuela.  By this time in two week, I will be on another continent, helping to lead a group of students from all over the US for 6 fast paced weeks of ministering to Venezuelan students and serving at a local orphanage.  I will miss many things about being in the US for the summer, but I'm excited to see what the Lord will do in the lives of people from around the world.  Bookmark this site.  I hope it will serve as a snapshot of what life is like and what God is doing.  I treasure your prayers as I prepare for this trip.  Check back often to see what God is up too, and I'd love to hear about the adventures God is placing in your everyday lives!
